O T E P

OTEP es una banda estadounidense de nu metal y metal experimental formada en 2000 por su cantante y líder, Otep Shamaya.

Las oscuras y agónicas letras de Shamaya lograron que se ganasen gran cantidad de adolescentes identificados con el sufrimiento lírico del grupo y de la cantante, como en su día ocurrió con Jonathan Davis, de Korn. Fuente

En si, Otep es altamente recomendado, tiene letras muy bien elaboradas (contrastadas con el ritmo de la música), sobre tópicos severos y críticas sociales, principalmente a nuestra sociedad capitalista como lo denota en su último album "Smash the control Machine". O trata temas mas oscuros como la religión, incesto, pobreza, drogas... en su album anterior "The Ascention", pero no lo hace de una forma habitual, Su música ostenta letras, vocalizaciones y ritm,os muy agresivos y hasta grotescos, pero el mensaje nunca se pierde.
